Smile New MacBookPro user, what now?

Ok, I bit the bullet:
There are some things I wish to do:
1) Enlarge Font for all applications. I set it once, but it didn't take for all apps.
2) I am disappointed with the quality of Text-to-speech. Is there a better TTS engine out there for mac? I didn't realize til now how great the TTS for PCs is.
3) How do I get started with the Mac Script language?
4) How do I get started with the Mac C++?
5) Is there a list of what's still on the osx install disks?

...Thanks in advance!
...Vern

Try using the voice Alex, it is a new one made for Leopard.

I am not a programmer but suggest the Applescript website as a start.

This link gives a listing on what comes with OS X

If you're looking to increase the size of what's on the screen, and not what's printing out, you should be able to change the display size under system preferences -> Display. Usually I use that trick to reduce the size of everything, to make the computer think I have a 17 inch monitor instead of a 15.

If that's not what you want, the other option is to make all the settings the way you want in a program's document, and then save the document as a template. Park it out where you can get to it, and every time you want to use the program, just open it up with the template.
