Major Prob. can't empty TRASH

I'm using OSX 10.1 and am unable to empty my trash. Every time I try I receive this message :

The operation cannot not be completed because you do not have sufficient priviledges for some of the items.

This has been going on for a while now and as I'm sure you can imagine has become a major problem. Can any help me???

Try downloading and running Apple's Repair Priviledges program. It's supposed to fix permission-related problems.

I'm stilll unable to empty my trash (which is HUGE) I ran the recommended repair, but things haven't changed

what's a girl to do???
