Internet Trouble

Im having problems connecting to the internet via Airport on my MacBook. Am i supposed to connect in by ethernet cable first and then do wi-fi?

Specifically i pull up Safari and it sais its not connected and i go through all the networking thing but when i get to the "location" screen it wont let me go through because i already have a "location" int eh name i selected. How do i connect with teh location im already on?

You should be able to connect without a cable, assuming you are trying to hook up to a previously existing wireless network.

1st question is though is your airport turned on (assuming yes). If so internet connect to see what networks are available. Try joining one. What happens?
