Forum behavior

This is not really a basic forum topic. It is an apology to mmkerc and the rest of the moderators of what is actually a wonderful forum website that I think has no equal. I want to continue to participate and perhaps contribute to the mix. I couldn't do that without saying that I am sorry for my recent behaviour in the now closed thread on software licensing. Having thought it over, I don't really think mmkerc intended to insult my integrity by his statements. It is a controversial issue. I'm sure there are many others whose emotions run as high as mine on this subject. In years hence, I'm sure some middle ground will be reached and all this will just become another footnote in computer history. But it is how we behave toward one another and how we act as civil human beings that make us part of of what we call civilization. In the millennia of time that we call history, we are still a species being tested to see whether or not we are fit to survive. Only time will tell.

Happy Friday Tilerep! I can only speak for myself but I welcome discussions and presentations of less than mainstream ideas. Heck, if we were all mainstream we wouldn't necessarily have any use for a forum titled "MACusers.org", eh?

Just keep in mind that the written word is painfully inadequate to purvey actual intent. Language is words + vocal inflection + visual expressions, etc. Words are black and white; not even gray scale. The rest is what gives language its vivid color. So when you're reading something written by someone, keep in mind you're extrapolating color from black and white. Also keep in mind when you're typing something that the reverse is true. In your mind you see vivid color but when you click send, what is transmitted is black and white.

As long as you don't try to tell me my Mac isn't as good as <insert brand here>'s Windows box, we're good.

Your Mac might be better than my Mac, but I'll bet you I have more of them.

All Macs are equally superior to all else. My comparison was against all those PoC's out there.

And I might just take that bet. 2 minis, an MacBook Pro, and a Mac Pro here. That + 6 windows boxes round out our collection in this house. LOL

I was only trying to keep the mood lively, mrcqm. It's not a contest. I'm afflicted with collector's disease, so I don't really expect most people to have as many as I do. I expect them to have more sense. Actually, I probably have more Newtons than most people have Macs. That is, unless my wife has thrown some of them away. I probably should go check!
