average Mac computer

My boss wants me to look a cheap Mac computer to test our website.... he wants the mid range one, the one that most Mac users use. Can anyone tell me what kind of hardware/software an average Mac should have? I'm sort of looking on eBay for one.
Thanks.

An iMac would probably work for what you need to do. You don't need the new flat-panel one, the older CRT version is fine too. I would say between 400 and 600 Mhz would be sufficient. Even though Apple discontinued Mac OS 9, people still use it. Therefore, the Mac should have both OS 9 and X on it. There are a variety web browsers for each system.
