Question Put DVDs on my Ipod..HELP!!!!

I'm very new to Mac's. How do I take a DVD, burn it to the desktop then import it to the IPOD. These are not major movies, they are Real Estate seminar DVDs so they should be easy to burn, I would think. I have a burn folder not sure if thats what I need. I heard of a software called Handbrake that will burn it and convert it for me. Any advice on what I should do or look into.

Thank you,
SD

You can create a folder and burn that to a cd or dvd. To burn multiple things that are stored in disparate locations within your computer, however, it's probably not convenient to have to copy everything into one folder. A burn folder, as you mentioned, is a folder full of shortcuts to the original file locations. It is used to put stuff on cd's and dvd's -- not the reverse.

What you need is something that takes a source like a DVD as an input and then understands the iPod's requirements on the back end for output. It seems Handbrake is perfectly suited for this task. It's open source and appears to be free so it doesn't hurt to try that route first.

I've not done this so I can't (unfortunately) offer you any first hand experience or advice.

I use HandBrake to copy my DVDs to my computer. It can also encode them to work on an iPod.
