powermac 5500/250 compatible printer...

My mom currently has a powermac 5500/250 in her classroom, and she wants a printer for it. Can someone suggest a couple of printers that would work with this model? She's interested in a color injet printer. I don't know what OS version she is running, but if that's necessary, I can find out from her. Thanks!

You would need a serial-based printer, which are most likely no longer made. (Apple abandoned serial ports in mid-1999)

The 5500 has one PCI slot, which you can put a USB card into. They shouldn't cost more than $30.

You could also buy a Comm Slot II Ethernet Card, and then connect it to a networkable inkjet with a crossover cable. This is a more expensive solution.

I like Epson's inkjets. The only other brand I would consider is HP, but their cartridges cost 2-3 times as much as Epson's.
