firmware

Well, I loaded 9.2.2 on my 350 iMac, but not before I increased
my ram to320mb. It runs fine, but I received an automatic firmware upgrade from Apple. I believe it is version 4.1.9.
I read somewhere that the firmware upgrade could cause my
system not to recognize my non-Apple 256 ram chip. I am very hesitant to install it. TIA for any advice on this
