Question Start from scratch on my G4?

Hello,
I am new to the mac world, and feel a little in the dark. I have recently got a G4 933MHz 512MB to get my music studio up and running. When it came from apple it was already all loaded up with OS 9 and X. In learning how to use it, and installing Pro Tools (Music Editing Software) I have messed a lot of things up.
I want to completely wipe everything off of the HD, add some partitions and reload everything know that I know what I want, and how I want it. Like FDISK, Format, Reinstall on a PC. How do you do this on a Mac. Is there a program or manual that can guide me through this process? And since I need both 9 & X on it, is there a certain order I need to load them?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, CODE

Boot up off the OS X CD, and run Apple Drive Setup. Make sure you backup all your data before, with a CD burner or other removable media.

I already have everything I need backed up. So just inserting the OS X disk and running the drive setup will let me wipe everything and partition? That's awesome if it's that easy. Thanks. Would I load OS 9 after that?
