Question Quark 6 Profile Processor Error

I am running Quark 6 on OSX 10.3.5. When opening, saving and printing from Quark docs i always get an error message stating Profile Processor Error: Bad transform, each time followed by a number, starting with (10055) and increasing by one each time, ie (10056), (10057). I have tried to upgrade to Quark 6.1 but it doesn't work either. I have searched the Quark.com support database without luck. Anyone have any ideas?

I got the same error after messing around with my monitor display profiles. I changed my profiles back to previous locations and settings, but the error concists. My setup is exactly the same as yours.
When quitting Quark, I get the error twice before it quits... Another reason for looking to InDesign... sigh.

problem resolved?
I deleted User Cache, System Cache, System Logs, Application Logs, Temp files and Virtual Memory files followed with a restart and the problem was gone.

you can use onyx to do these operations easy:
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/20070

update:// the error is back opening a document saved when the error was present. now I get the error three times upon quiting quark...

update:// tried deleting Xpress Preferences, didn't work, deleted Quark CMS Preferences, didnt work. But then I deleted ALL the Quark Preferences, restarted Quark, updated the profile manager, defined new path for Auxiliary Profile Folder, leaving ALL the profiles ON, then the PROBLEM IS GONE!

update:// Forget it, the error is back...

I think it might have something with the Euroscale Coted v2 profile... I'll try to investigate some...

Thumbs down quark profile

The only way to get rid of it is to turn off quarks cms, but than you can't color manage files. Recreating your colorsync profiles doesn't help. i am so tired of this.....

I am totally with you. Have tried everything. I think it has to do with corrupt profiles as the problem occured for me when I fixed my profiles (...). trashing of all prefs and trying with two different xpress´ and doing all system fixes known to man doesn't seem to work.

please please keep posting any info of this. it's sooo annoying.

Profile Processor Error: Bad Transform [10055]

This is a nuisance isn't it?

I had problems with creating PDFs in Quark when I installed panther. I came across a solution whilst searching (which I now cannot track down!!), which was to enter an IP Address which acts as a Postscript driver in Print Setup Utility. When I did this, everything worked fine.

I recently upgraded to Tiger, and foolishly forgot to make a note of the IP Address, so am back with the same problem!

Apparently the people at Quark know about this IP Address, but have made it impossible to track down.

So now I keep getting this error message, and my PDFs don't print right.

Someone, somewhere please end this misery!!

Shimuzu

Not sure if this is the IP address you are refereing to but this is the address from any web browser you can control your printers from:

http://127.0.0.1:631

This is the UNIX CUPS printer server built into OS X.

Profile Processor Error: Bad Transform [10055]

Hi All,

Experiencing Profile Processor Error: Bad Transform [10055/56/57]? Well I removed the XPress Preferences.pfr file from my users library

Macintosh HD/Users/Username/Library/Preference/Quark/QuarkXPress6.0/Xpress Preferences.prf

Trash it! Everything seems to be going fine. No error message so far!

PDF issues lies with Preview Application version 1.1 and below, as I think they are not fully funtional in Tiger. Use version 3.0.1, it just means that short cuts to zoom are slightly different, but at least it works.

Thanks mmkerc!

This was the IP Address I was looking for! I can create PDFs again! The only problem is that I still get the error [10055/56/57] message when quitting Quark. Annoying, but I can live with it until someone can figure out what is causing it.

Peace out, Shimuzu.

Thumbs up Profiles error QuarkXpress 6 this seems to work

Just started getting these error codes
read all the posts and seemed to have worked out that it is a profiles error between the monitors setup and quark xpress 6
What I did to correct it
went into
....system prefs
....monitor
....colour
set to generic monitor ( Or your specific monitor... calibarated)

Then
Open your Quark document
....Utilities
....Usage
.....Profiles
select.... Generic CYMK profile
CYMK colour.... set to generic CYMK
CYMK image....set to generic CYMK

all these profiles ( monitor and document) must match each other
If you select Generic in all your prefs this should work
if you choose to work with your own calibrations
????? may or may not work... haven't tried

Best of luck.. hope it works 4u
