File type/creator code

I have been uploading JPEGS from a digicam to an Ibook (OS 9); I would like to be able to click on them and open them in Adobe Photoshop but QuickTime opens by default. Is there any way I can change this default without use of shareware? (or what shareware is to be recommended?) I would rather not have to fiddle with each file, which would defeat the object. Thanks

QuickConvert is $5.00 shareware, but it does exactly what you want.

Master Typer is free, but it apparently isn't a very good program.
