No sound in Quicktime export

Hi folks! This is my first post!

here is my problem:

So that I may use the "film aging" filters of Quicktime Pro, I have brought into QTPro a QT movie EXPORTED FROM FLASH.

When I apply desired filters, it looks great, but the soundtrack is gone. In fact, the "sound" checkbox is even greyed out in the Options dialogue in QTP.

I am exporting a Quicktime movie to QTmovie format.

• do I have an incorrect setting in Flash?
• is there a workaround? (can I bring the soundtrack from Flash separately?)
• can I not get there from here?

Sincerely
Jacques the Cornered & Confused, Who Is Also Facing A Deadline

ps:
the wife has put the freeze on hard and software purchases (new house). Im on OS9, on a b&w. I have an old version of iMovie, or I would use the 3rd party filters it has. (OSX only).
