How do I uninstall Norton antivirus?

I have recurring messages from Norton antivirus, which I don't use, that pop up on the screen when I start up. How might I erase, delete, or uninstall these? I believe I uninstalled the main program a while back.

To remove Norton Anti-Virus open up your Applications folder and right click on Norton the select "Move to Trash" from the dropdown menu. That will remove Norton Anti-Virus from you system. Before you do that however, open the Norton file to see if it has an uninstaller built in. If it does, you should use this uninstaller as it will remove every vestige of the Norton program. If there is not an uninstaller, follow the original instructions I gave. I hope this helps. I personally don't like Norton Anti-Virus for the Mac, but I agree that some form of anti-virus might be a good idea to have on your computer. Consider downloading ClamXav, as it seems to be better suited to the Mac environment. Others have also complained about problems with Norton. While getting a virus on a Mac is a slight possibility, it is better to e safe than sorry. There are viruses out there and someday one of them might manage to infect an Apple OS or app.
