Stuck!

Ok, so I'm on my Mac OSX (not intel) and everything seems to be going a bit slow. I tried to start up Itunes, and that wouldn't work at all. So I restart it but now it won't go past the page where it says "Starting up Mac OSX" with a loading bar. It loads really slowly, and when it reaches the end, it doesn't load, it just stops and the end. It's not frozen, because the little loading animation, with the little whiteish bars going along the blue loading bar keep going. I don't know what's wrong, I've turned it off and on again, I've unplugged, replugged, but it still stops there.

Anyone know what's wrong and if I can fix it?

In my experience, slowdowns of this nature point to a hard drive starting to go badly wrong. Make sure you make a backup as soon as you can and get some powerful diagnostic software to check it. Good Luck...

Need more information. Is this a new computer (to you, understand it is a PPC). Did you recently update any software on the system? What model and OS are you running?

Assuming that you have had this system for some time and have not installed new software or updated version the behavior does point to a corrupted hard drive, or system. Try booting off your installation disks.
