Hi! The Mac can read and write to fat32. The Mac can read BUT NOT write to NTFS (without additional software). Do you have ownership of the disk image and is it a Mac or PC formatted disk image. I use a flash drive that I formatted MBR (master boot record) and then formatted two volumes on Mac and one Fat32. That way I have both available even though the pc can't see the Mac volume. If it's a Mac disk image then you're probably better off copying it to a Mac formatted volume. Tom

Hi! I'm not sure what you are trying to accomplish. If the disk is an upgrade disk then you have to have the original disks to reinstall with and then use the upgrade disk. Do you have the originals? Tom

Hi mpr,
it seems to me that you can just select the disk image on your computer, then click on "Get info" in the Finder's File menu. That will show the permissions. You can change the permissions by clicking on the padlock and entering your user password. Change the permissions to read and write for your user account.

Now it should copy to the flash drive.
