How to interrupt copying

Hi everyone,

Many times I've started copying a large file and then (when I saw how long it would take to finish) wanted to stop the copying. Does anyone know how to stop copying files mid-process. I am copying from one HD to another. I am running Tiger.

thanks

Hi! Stopping any read/write process of a file copying can sometimes be accomplished if a "cancel" button is available but a force quit or forced restart often damages the disk directory. You just really shouldn't try to abort a disk copy process unless you are willing to reformat the drive. Tom
