Thumbs down Second hand mac wireless key board

Hi All

I brought a second hand mac which had tiger as the operating system, I have up graded to snow leopard, I cant say that the keyboard worked on tiger because I immediately changed it to snow leopard (it is an Intel Mac) but I cant get the keyboard to pair, the computer knows it is there so it has discovered it but it wont pair, , two things the keyboard has a different name from the computer, does that make a difference ? and can I change the name ? or is the software on the keyboard out dated and will not communicate with Leopard?

Thanks as always
