Startup Disk

When I had purchased my PC laptop, I received a startup disk incase of HD failure.

I received no disk with the MacBook Pro. Am I to make one?
If so, can you give me some direction?

Thanks

When you bought your MacBook Pro there should have been an OS Install disk included - that also serves as an emergency boot disk enabling repair of the hard disk. It also includes a hardware test for your MBP. It's a good idea to boot from this disk every month or so and run the Disk Utilities and repair file permissions - it's a little more exhaustive than running the same proggy from the hard disk.

PS If/when you purchase a newer version of the OS (10.6 say) then that becomes your emergency boot disk + Disk Utilities. Your original OS Install disk is still required as it is the only source of the hardware test programs.
Sooooo.. put these disks in a safe and memorable location.
